Such a welcoming Coach! I was nervous about working out and boxing, but taking the beginner classes at Thunder Boxing Club gave me such a helpful foundation. In 2020, I came back to Cincinnati, OH from Los Angeles, CA to spend time with my family during the covid pandemic. And during that time (as a model and actor) I needed to stay in shape. I asked Zak if I could come workout with him at his boxing gym and he said ‘of course and would you like to learn how to box?’ I said sure. I had never done any boxing in the past but as a workout it sounded fun! Over the course of 4-5 months we began to get more and more involved in boxing techniques and my workouts. My body changed drastically. I was in the best shape of my life! I learned so much boxing theory and history during our sessions as well! He’s such a great trainer, Zak is patient and very dedicated to your personal goals and what you want out of the experience. Whether you choose to learn boxing for self defense, athletic conditioning, or just as a hobby it’s a wonderful, non threatening, and safe environment to learn and better yourself! When you’re coached by zak, you can feel how personal he takes the challenge, he connects on a personal level but still pushes for max effort. I wasn’t going to ever become a boxer or ever have a in ring battle but wanted to know the basics and evolve and put my limits to the test all while incorporating core workouts and getting that sweat on!
